Mickey's Eastern with NuFletch
Mickey Geracitano, Purchasing Representative for Pape’s Archery Inc. had the opportunity to take this beautiful 20+# Eastern in South Carolina on Phil Haynie’s family farm. The bird’s beard was 91/2” and showed of an impressive 1 1/8” spurs. Haynie is NuFletch Archery’s Executive Sales Manager. The Tom was coaxed in by calls from Phil’s “Reynolds” custom slate call that was hand built by one of Phil’s childhood friends. “The call is old but the sounds are irresistible to the wary gobblers” said Haynie who also took a bird two days later. Geracitano had a real close look at the NuFletch arrow as Haynie had to ask Geracitano if he was clear before the shot. Geracitano assured Haynie he was clear, the NuFletch fitted arrow zipped out 32 yards to find its mark. Haynie’s gobbler weighted in at 18+lbs and sported a 8.5” beard with ¾” spurs.
